Internal Sales Engineer

(1 fte – region Assen Netherlands)




Responsible for selling and promoting products and / or services primarily through inbound / outbound telephone and e-mail activities. Develops quotations, follows up open quotes and prospects according to local agreements, closes sales, enters orders into related systems and prepares appropriate documentation. May provide assistance to field sales representatives in support of field sales activities (e.g., providing prospective contact information).


Responsible for domestic / international inside sales activities which includes answering customer questions about products, pricing, delivery and applications; accepting and preparing quotations STO / CTO / ETO and sales orders in status ‘planned’ and serving as a liaison between the company and the customer.

Service activities for customers include technical inquiry, order process status, confirm of shipping instruction, payment and all related documents required by customers.

  • Receives and reviews customer inquiries, requests, and correspondence.  Gathers necessary information and data to formulate timely responses and to quote prices and deliveries.
  • Receives and initiates entering of sales orders to status Planned, completed with all required data needed for the processing of the order.
  • Close follow up of open quotes, customers and prospects according local agreements
  • Usage of existing CRM tool for creation ‘quotation follow up’
  • Keep ‘Customer data’ updated in CRM tool
  • Maintains files of required records and documents received, sent and associated with sales orders 
  • Assists in the establishment and administration of departmental policies and procedures 
  • Acts as liaison with customers to service customer needs and resolve differences as they may occur
  • Communicates and cooperates with other departments to facilitate efficient operations, particularly Commercial Engineering, regarding ETO, cost, lead time, design, specifications
  • Follows Company and departmental policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations
  • Provide technical/sales information on products in order to build up ‘joined knowledge’
  • Travel to required locations to provide technical assistance and trouble shoot in commissioning and customer start-up of products as required
  • May perform other work related assignments as deemed necessary and appropriate by supervisor





  • Proficient is MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Adobe Acrobat
  • Knowledge of sales order process, import and export statutory process
  • Knowledge about international customs and tax practices and legislations
  • Ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written, is preferred



  • Combination of MBO+ / HBO Engineering or Commercial Economics / Business Administration education with a technical affinity and experience equivalent to minimum two years of related sales or export / import experience 
  • A mechanical aptitude and familiarity with Company products is beneficial and preferred
